At Agape House:

The name reflects the mission.

"Agape" refers to the perfect, unconditional love of God; a love that can guide and restore us.

"House" represents the dwelling place of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. It is the personal shelter we have lived in all of our life.

During sessions, our mission will be to work together to explore your shelter, working toward any desired repairs and building a stronger foundation.

The symbol points to what directs us

You will notice mountains and valleys in the imagery. These represent the reality of life’s journey; the path isn't always flat, and sometimes guidance is needed to navigate the steep climbs and the low valleys.

Above it all sits a compass with only one direction: True North. As a faith-based practice, I lead from the perspective that when we feel lost, God provides our "True North," directing us on our path and leading us toward healing and peace.

Jennifer Hunt, MA, LPC

My Approach

As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Ohio, I enjoy using the John Townsend Character Model for character building. This Model helps us to identify where past hurts have caused current struggles and provides steps that enable healing and growth. Strengthening our character development will always help us to navigate life's demands and build healthy connections more effectively.

Having spent much of my life in Christian ministry, I view therapy, and all of life, through a biblical world view. I believe that emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical health are deeply connected. I am convinced that incorporating faith into our healing journey increases the positive experience of the process.

Therefore, in sessions, I integrate faith with evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). We will work together, in a safe and non-judgmental space, to recognize any deep-rooted negative patterns, and set goals for developing new ways of living that will promote the lasting change you are hoping for.

Outside The Office

When I’m not counseling, I deeply enjoy the time spent with my husband, our teenage son, and our fluffy pup. We are active in our church community and have a passion for exploring new places together, especially if it involves finding the best local coffee shop. While I am drawn to the outdoors, I also bring nature inside; during Ohio’s winters, I stay energized by surrounding myself with the greenery of my indoor plants.

Life can be hard enough without the pressure to face it alone. You don’t have to!
